Low Level Laser Treatment

Low level laser treatment though may sound not very significant but is actually the beneficial way of solving many health issues. It is considered to be the most effective of the laser treatments. It is also known as laser biostimulation therapy, cold laser low level therapy and photobiomodulation. It involves low-level laser emission. The therapy enhances the stimulation or inhibition of functions of the cells. It is also helpful in treating tissue injuries, sprains, wounds, joint cases including arthritis, skin infections and ulcers, and relieves from severe pains. The low level laser light is set on a particular wavelength and intensity which is low. This light on emission by a monochromatic source works on regeneration of the tissue and pain. It is effective on cases of inflammation as well.

The low level laser treatment also increases levels of serotonin wich encourages the body to develop the ability of healing itself. During the treatment, photons which are emitted from low power laser penetrate the tissues and get absorbed by mitochondria. In the cell, the energy gets converted to chemical energy. This leads to changes in the permeability of that cell membrane and thus physiological changes are made.

Though low level laser treatment has found to be very useful yet more studies are going on to test its ability to treat further advanced health issues. The exploration of its photochemical effect is yet on. It’s physiological and biochemical effects have already been studies and observed. These effects work on permeability of cell membranes, regulation of nitric oxide and adenosine triphosphate. The treatments involves thorough study and due care from the specialist who performs it on the patient. People seeking the treatment should consider going to very advanced of clinics, where the chances of risk is minimum. Yet, not many laser treatment clinics are efficient or expert enough in practicing the method non-hesitatingly.

Air Pollution and Asthma

Quality matters most. One should not never compromise in terms of quality of anything, be it food, water or even air. Good health largely depends upon the quality of things you consume. But today, it has become almost impossible to live on your own conditions. Everyone has to bear with what is available. Similarly, you cannot avoid your exposure to harmful substances present in the atmosphere. For a person who is already suffering from asthma, it is really a big deal to manage. The major environmental problem is air pollution and asthma worsens the situation for the person as the sensitivity towards respiratory problems increases.

In asthmatics, the air pollutants act as trigger for asthma symptoms to show. They infect the respiratory system causing many kinds of breathing problems. These problems may take the form of various complications if not taken consideration of. Children are more prone to such complications as they have less immunity by then. So, one should always keep a check on pollution levels of the place and should take action accordingly. Five of the most common factors leading to air pollution are ground-level ozone, particle pollution, carbon monoxide, nitrous oxide, and sulfur oxide. If you find the quality of air is getting bad, take necessary precautions that can save you from infections and allergies. Environmental pollution is caused due to ejection of excess smoke by vehicles, factories and burning of substances like coal and rubber. The formation of harmful gases lessens the level of oxygen in the environment. This results in air pollution and asthma follows the same.

To stay away from outdoor pollution, make sure you limit your outings and stay indoors which is kept neat and clean. Avoid indulging into practices that expose you to pollutants. You cannot avoid air pollution and asthma completely but sure can minimize their effects on your health.

Drug Allergies

Allergic reactions caused due to medication or any particular drug, are termed as drug allergies. These reactions are though considered to be the side effects of the drug, yet they should not be ignored. They can be as mild as simple rashes and as severe as resulting to sudden death of the patient. Symptoms of the reaction don’t show during the first time. They occur when the drug is taken for the second time. If by any chance, you feel the symptoms right at the first time, it means, that you must have been exposed to it without you being aware about it.

Drug allergies are also the result of the response of body’s immune system towards the antigen. On contact with the drug for the first time, the body produces antigens against it and keeps them in store, for the next time. When the antigen is found to be there again, the antibodies cause cells to release chemicals named as mediators. This causes the symptoms to occur. Drugs like painkillers, antibiotics and antiseizure medications are more likely to cause allergy. A drug allergy can take a serious turn if the drug is taken more quantities and more frequently. An allergic drug taken through an injection causes much severe symptoms than the drug taken orally.

The symptoms of drug allergies vary according to way the drug is taken. Rashes, swelling, itching, fever, aches in various parts of the body, upset stomach and inflammation of the kidney are the symptoms that characterize drug allergies. Another symptom of allergy is anaphylaxis which is a serious one and can even be life-threatening and should be given a professional treatment, without any delay. Whenever you feel your body is reacting to a certain drug, stop the medication and consult the doctor who recommended you the medicine. If the allergy is mild, then he would recommend another medicine but if the allergy is serious, seek immediate relief in the hospital on emergency basis.
